Blending together his own brand of Alt-Country, Blues and Hillbilly Storytelling Jason has brought his high energy performances to stages around the globe. Dark Holler Festival, Hen-Fest, Carolina Pines Music Festival and the Van Thom Weekender are just a few of the highlights from 2015/16. During that time Jason also toured Germany, the U.K., Canada and Iceland before finishing out 2016 with a 5 month solo cross-country U.S. tour. Whether performing as a One Man Band or as a duo with long-time drummer Kurtis Bento Jason's ever evolving live show is one not to be missed.

“It’s hard to forget Thompson’s voice, a mix of guttural and commanding sincerity. Fiery, warm, pained, powerful, gritty and embracing." Brian Tucker- The Star News
Before deciding to focus on his solo career Jason could be found playing bass, guitar and singing with several other bands over the years such as the Dub Punks, Acoustically Kind, Figian Afro, Hombrew and Dub From The Rainshadow. All relatively obscure projects bucking trends and focusing on originality. These are two qualities that Jason retains in his solo work. Pulling inspiration from a variety of sources including Hill Country Blues, Traditional & Outlaw Country, Gospel, Reggae and Traditional Roots Music Jason spins these influences together with his Working-Class lyrics and stories from the road. When combined you get an artist with his head in the future and his feet set deeply in the folk traditions of the past.
